Dewees Island Public Safety Department Event - Saturday April 12 , 2014
Chief Randy arranged a “Scene Team” class through the
Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) for the Dewees Island Community. They
learnt what happens when they have a life threatening medical or trauma related
emergency on Dewees and when to call a helicopter flight team. Members of the
community were able to meet the flight team and see the helicopter and the
team’s equipment. A cook out was enjoyed by all following the class.
Fire Chief Randy Snipes and Lori Sharon Wilson lower the Purple
Martin house at the front dock for repairs.
Lori studies her recent attempt to keep Owls, Crows and
Hawks out of the House. She also took the opportunity to replace
its rotted roof.
Each year the staff gets together for some relaxation after
the hard work of preparing for the Dewees Island Annual Meeting.
This year staff met at Zeus Greek restaurant corporate
meeting rooms in Mount Pleasant for lunch. They also enjoyed power point
presentations by Lori and I. Both of us presented our speeches
from the owner annual meeting, speeches that the staff dont usually have a chance to
hear. A positive time of camaraderie was enjoyed by all.
